1. What JFOO is
JFOO is an online-store and delivery platform for independent food businesses (home kitchens, food trucks, bakeries, and meal-prep operators) in Austin and Houston, Texas. We provide the technology — store builder, ordering, delivery management, payments, tracking, reviews, and communication tools. We are not a marketplace, we do not employ drivers, and we do not prepare or sell food.
Each store on JFOO is owned and operated by an independent merchant. The merchant sets their own menu, prices, delivery area, fees, and hours. JFOO powers the storefront and the order pipeline.
2. Accounts
You need an account to operate a store or a driver portal. Customers do not need an account — customers order as guests using their name, email, and delivery address.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately about any unauthorized use. Merchants must be food-business owners operating in compliance with applicable Texas food-safety and cottage-food regulations, and must hold any license their operation requires.
3. Stores, menus, and merchant responsibilities
Everything displayed on your store — items, prices, photos, descriptions, allergen notes, delivery fees, and hours — is your responsibility. Prices charged to customers are always computed on our servers from your live menu, so keep your menu current. If an item is sold out, mark it unavailable; customers cannot order unavailable items.
You must comply with all laws that apply to your food business, including permitting, labeling, allergen disclosure, and safe food handling. JFOO may remove or suspend a store that misrepresents its offerings or operates unlawfully.
4. Orders and payments
When a customer places an order, they pay you directly: card and PayPal charges are processed by the payment provider connected to YOUR store (your own Stripe or PayPal account), and cash-on-delivery orders are collected by your driver at the door. JFOO does not hold order funds — money moves between the customer and you (or your provider account) at checkout.
Order amounts always include your item prices, options, any delivery fee, applicable tax, and a platform fee line as described in section 5. Only a payment verified by your payment provider, or your own confirmation that cash was received, marks an order as paid.
5. The $0.50 platform fee and billing
There is no monthly subscription. For every order that reaches the completed (delivered) status, the merchant owes JFOO a flat platform fee — currently $0.50 per completed order, shown as a transparent line at the customer's checkout. The fee is accrued in the merchant's ledger and invoiced periodically (daily, weekly, or monthly as configured). Platform-fee invoices are settled with XPay, the single payment method for fee settlement.
Unpaid invoices pass through a deadline and grace period, after which a store stops accepting NEW orders until the balance is paid; the moment a payment verifies, the store is automatically reactivated. Completed orders, history, and merchant access to the dashboard remain available throughout.
6. Delivery
Delivery is performed by drivers invited and managed by each merchant. JFOO provides the driver portal, navigation, live location sharing, and the verification flow, but drivers act on behalf of the merchant — JFOO does not vet, employ, or insure them.
Every order carries a one-time verification code sent to the customer's email. A delivery can only be marked completed with that code. Customers must be reachable at the address they provided; instructions (gate codes, apartment numbers) travel with the order to the merchant and driver.
7. Reviews
After an order is delivered and completed, the customer may leave one review per order, rating the food and the delivery. Reviews appear on the store's public page with a privacy-protected author name. Merchants can respond through the order chat. Fake, abusive, or off-topic reviews may be hidden by platform administrators.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use JFOO to sell unlawful items, misrepresent food attributes or allergens, harass other users, scrape or overload the platform, or attempt to bypass payment, fees, or verification. Don't share another person's personal information. Violations can lead to content removal, order cancellation, or account suspension.
9. Cancellations and refunds
Refunds for card or PayPal payments are issued by the merchant through the same payment provider that processed the charge, and are reflected on the order once verified. Cash-on-delivery orders that never complete are simply released — nothing was charged. Abandoned unpaid online orders are automatically cancelled.
10. Service availability and changes
We aim for continuous availability but cannot promise uninterrupted service. We may improve or change platform features; material changes to these terms will be announced in the platform. If you continue using JFOO after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply.
11. Liability
JFOO provides the technology, not the food. Merchants are responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of what they sell, and for their drivers' conduct. To the maximum extent permitted by law, JFOO's aggregate liability arising from use of the platform is limited to the platform fees you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms: reach us through the support link on any order tracking page or at the platform support address. Merchants can also contact us from their dashboard.
